This is probably a mistake…

Chapter 12: An Old Pipe

Gareth Bryne has tracked Siuan’s group to Lugard, and deduces that they must have headed west.

Gareth Bryne has tracked Siuan’s group all the way from Kore Springs to Lugard. Wow. That’s kind of like following someone across multiple state lines because they shoplifted a candy bar. He’ll be the first to admit he’s getting too old for this shit, but he is so fixated on discovering why Siuan broke her oath that he will follow her however long and however far it takes.

A still from The Princess Bride where Prince Humperdinck is smelling the empty vial of iocaine powder -- which we know to be odorless -- and declaring that it was definitely filled with iocaine powder..

They’ve gone west. I’ll stake my life on it.

And boy, is Bryne a miracle worker when it comes to tracking. Somehow, between speaking with Mistress Tharne and the Whitecloaks Siuan encountered, he is deduces that they must have gone west. Lucky guess, dude.

That is literally all there is to say about this chapter. It’s a conspicuously short and uncomplicated one for a Robert Jordan book.
